The SEWP V contract start date has been delayed due to GAO protests. Typically, a protest period is 100 days, therefore SEWP IV contracts will be extended 4-6 months.

Free NASA SEWP Training at FOSE
The NASA SEWP (Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement) Program Office will be holding SEWP Training at the 2014 FOSE Exposition on May 13, 14 and 15 at 10:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 PM in Room 159AB of the convention center. The training will last approximately 2 hours and will provide information on how to leverage the contracts in support of your agency\'s mission. The two training sessions are identical and will be delivered each day. Attendees receive 2 CLPs for completing the training. Online pre-registration for this training is now closed. Walk-in registrations are welcome and will begin at 10 AM on Tuesday May 13, 2014. If you have any questions about the training, please visit the SEWP Booth (#1118) or email help@sewp.nasa.gov.

SEWP IV contracts to be extended ...
NASA SEWP officially announced its intent to extend the SEWP IV contracts effective ordering period for an additional 6 months. The effective ordering period for the current SEWP IV contracts will be extended from April 30, 2014 to October 31, 2014. Subsequently, the effective ordering period for the follow-on SEWP V contracts will begin on November 1, 2014. The formal contract modifications extending the SEWP IV contracts are forthcoming and will be completed as soon as possible. For more information please see the following link: FedBizOpps Posting.

Microtech Suspension Lifted
Effective January 28, 2014: The suspension of Microtech, LLC from receiving federal Government contracts has been lifted effective immediately. Microtech shall now be allowed to resume all ordering activities and Federal agencies may now place new orders with Microtech, LLC.

Microtech Suspension
Effective December 20, 2013, Microtech, LLC has been suspended from receiving federal Government contracts. Pursuant to 48 C.F.R. 9-405-1, ordering activities shall not:

1. Place orders exceeding guaranteed minimum under indefinite quantity contracts;
2. Place orders under optional use federal supply schedule contracts, blanket purchase agreement, or basic ordering agreements; or
3. Add new work, exercise options, or otherwise extend the duration of current contracts or orders.

Federal agencies may continue contracts or subcontracts in existence at the time Microtech was suspended unless the agency head directs otherwise. If Microtech is removed from the Excluded Parties List (EPLS), then new orders and work may be placed. Please continue to check the EPLS at www.epls.gov

SEWP Announces New Advisory Group
In a move to further solidify its position as a premier Government Wide Acquisition Contract, and a driving force in the future of IT acquisition, The Solutions for Enterprise Wide Procurement (SEWP) Program announced the assembly of \'The SEWP Advisory Group\'. The group, comprised of leaders in the Federal Information Technology (IT) community, will provide their individual expertise and insights to the SEWP Program.

The timing to assemble the Advisory Group was appropriate, according to NASA SEWP Program Manager, Joanne Woytek. Woytek explained, "To expand beyond the scope of the initial vision of building the \'most customer-focused\' GWAC, that operated in the best interest of the Federal Government, the private sector and the American taxpayers, I felt it was time to bring in a group of \'fresh eyes and ears\', to provide unbiased feedback, strategic advice and industry insight to solidify the direction of the NASA SEWP Program for the forthcoming years." The Advisory Group, consisting of five professionals in the Federal IT arena, will have its inaugural meeting later on this month, in Washington D.C.

Contract Modifications and Clause Updates
The SEWP IV contracts have been modified to include updated clauses for energy efficiency and contract terms and conditions. The updated contracts also include additional clauses provided in accordance with recent Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) changes. Some much needed updates were made over the weekend. These changes include displaying better Contract Holder names throughout the web site, an RFQ Tool change to aid in the Secondary Contact entries by only allowing Last Name and E-mail to be entered, Additional info on the CLIN level displaying the Energy Star Flag and EPEAT flag across the web site.
