SEWP IV contracts to be extended ...NASA SEWP officially announced its intent to extend the SEWP IV contracts effective ordering period for an additional 6 months. The effective ordering period for the current SEWP IV contracts will be extended from April 30, 2014 to October 31, 2014. Subsequently, the effective ordering period for the follow-on SEWP V contracts will begin on November 1, 2014. Microtech Suspension Lifted Effective January 28, 2014: The suspension of Microtech, LLC from receiving federal Government contracts has been lifted effective immediately. Microtech shall now be allowed to resume all ordering activities and Federal agencies may now place new orders with Microtech, LLC. Updated: January 28, 2014
Microtech Suspension Effective December 20, 2013, Microtech, LLC has been suspended from receiving federal Government contracts. Pursuant to 48 C.F.R. 9-405-1, ordering activities shall not: - Place orders exceeding guaranteed minimum under indefinite quantity contracts;
- Place orders under optional use federal supply schedule contracts, blanket purchase agreement, or basic ordering agreements; or
- Add new work, exercise options, or otherwise extend the duration of current contracts or orders.
Federal agencies may continue contracts or subcontracts in existence at the time Microtech was suspended unless the agency head directs otherwise. SEWP Announces New Advisory GroupIn a move to further solidify its position as a premier Government Wide Acquisition Contract, and a driving force in the future of IT acquisition, The Solutions for Enterprise Wide Procurement (SEWP) Program announced the assembly of \'The SEWP Advisory Group\'. The group, comprised of leaders in the Federal Information Technology (IT) community, will provide their individual expertise and insights to the SEWP Program. The timing to assemble the Advisory Group was appropriate, according to NASA SEWP Program Manager, Joanne Woytek. Woytek explained, "To expand beyond the scope of the initial vision of building the \'most customer-focused\' GWAC, that operated in the best interest of the Federal Government, the private sector and the American taxpayers, I felt it was time to bring in a group of \'fresh eyes and ears\', to provide unbiased feedback, strategic advice and industry insight to solidify the direction of the NASA SEWP Program for the forthcoming years." SEWP to provide two training sessions at FOSEThe NASA SEWP Program will provide free SEWP training for Government attendees at FOSE in Washington, DC. Two 1 1/2 hour training sessions will be held on Wednesday, March 21st, 2007 at 10:15am and 2:00pm in room 144C in the DC Convention Center. The training will provide attendees with an overview on properly utilizing the SEWP GWAC contracts and SEWP online tools. Attendees from any Federal Agency may attend. DoD personnel, please note: The DoD IG has recommended that all DoD Procurement Personnel should be trained on the proper use of the SEWP contracts through SEWP-Sponsored training sessions.
