Section 889 of the 2019 the National Defense Authorization Act

Section 889 of the 2019 the National Defense Authorization Act states:

The Government may not procure or obtain certain telecommunications and video surveillance equipment or services. This prohibition is known as Section 889, Part A and went into effect August 13, 2019.

The Government may not contract with any company that uses the same telecommunications and video surveillance equipment or services. This prohibition is known as Section 889, Part B and went into effect August 13, 2020.

All SEWP contracts have been modified and include 52.204-24 and 52.204-25. Therefore, there is no longer a need to include 52.204-24 and 52.204-25 in SEWP RFQ's unless mandated by your agency regulations. Reference provision 52.204-26.

All SEWP Contract Holders have certified in the System for Award Management (SAM). Please see each Contract Holder's Reps & Certs tab when viewing in https://sam.gov/.

All SEWP CH's are Section 889 certified at the SEWP contract level.
