Benefits of SEWP
Unique Online Catalog for Market Research, Requesting Quotes and Creating Orders
SEWP is a request-based contract vehicle that maintains an Online Catalog of IT solutions and services. The catalog consists of both the SEWP Online Catalog & Strategic Storefronts that are updated continuously, based on customer requests and available technology services. If the product(s)/service(s) required are within the SEWP scope, use the Quote Request Tool (QRT) to submit a Request for Quote (RFQ), Market Research Request (MRR), or a Request for Information (RFI) for the desired solutions. After adding the solutions to their contract, Contract Holders can respond with a quote/information. Agencies can then order the solutions/services based on the provided quote(s).
SEWP Strategic Solutions & Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs)
Strategic Storefronts
A Strategic Storefront is an offering that provides a snapshot of products, solutions, and/or services as defined by an Agency's requirements and availability on SEWP VI Contracts.
A Storefront is created by defining a set of objective filters that can be applied to the overall SEWP Online Catalog. Filters may be based on a Contract Holder's business size, socioeconomic status (SES), approved resellers, etc. Filters can also include Contract Line Item (CLIN) attributes such as Trade Agreement Act (TAA) compliance, EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) level, product/brand name, technical specifications, and standards-based requirements, etc.
Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA)
Federal Agencies may now establish a BPA for recurring purchases from one or more suppliers for pre-defined ITC/AV products and services using the NASA SEWP contracts. Major benefits include:
- Streamlined ordering: Enables quicker turnaround times for orders, allowing Agencies to respond efficiently to their needs without the delays associated with traditional contracting methods.
- Cost efficiency: By consolidating purchases, Agencies can take advantage of quantity discounts and reduce administrative burdens.
- Reduces administrative costs: By simplifying the purchasing process, Agencies can eliminate the need for separate contracts for each purchase.
Other benefits to establishing a Strategic SEWP offering include:
- Solutions Standardization: Agency establishes pre-defined and consistent offerings
- Acquisition Standardization: Inclusion of Agency Terms and Conditions and related documentation
- Cyber Security: Contract Holders and their offerings meet IT security and Cyber Supply Chain Risk Management (C-SCRM) Agency requirements
- Micro-purchase ordering: e-commerce/catalog application for direct Storefront purchasing
- Optimized Market Research and RFQ process: IT solutions and pricing are on contract and meet Agency requirements
- Executive Level Support: Tracking, reporting and oversight of all Agency activities
- Price Competitiveness: Continuous internal competition within the Online Catalog and through RFQs.
